Community Partnership for Strengthening Sustainable Development (Compass)

Period: 2019–2025
What we delivered: Forestry and natural resource cooperation program advancing nature-based forest management through multi-stakeholder engagement (government, academia, civil society), capacity development, applied tools/analytics, restoration, and global knowledge exchange to strengthen forest governance and climate-resilient management.
Proof points: Launched Bangladesh’s first Youth Conservation Corps (240+ graduates); restored 1,000+ ha of degraded forest; introduced i-Tree and delivered the country’s first urban tree inventory; implemented a national tree-cover monitoring study and urban forestry inventories; and facilitated global knowledge exchanges for 200+ participants, including the pioneering FoCAS exchange program.

USAID Bangladesh Ecotourism Activity

What we delivered: Built an inclusive ecotourism value chain with public–private partnership and community participation.
Proof points: Developed Sundarbans Ecotourism Master Plan (2025–2045), formed GSETS DMO, trained 280+ EcoGuides.

Enhanced Coastal Fisheries in Bangladesh (ECOFISH II)

Client / Budget: Bangladesh Ministry of Fisheries; WorldFish; USAID (USD 10M)
Period: 2020–2024
What we delivered: Sustainable coastal fisheries and blue economy program strengthening fisheries governance, biodiversity conservation, and community livelihoods, scaling co-management institutions, community finance/mobilization, marine protection, and behavior-change/enforcement support to reduce IUU fishing.
Proof points: Established 100+ community-managed fisheries co-management bodies; mobilized 200+ village savings groups and trained 400+ youth volunteers; supported delineation of two marine protected areas; led a national anti-IUU campaign; and improved livelihoods for approximately 15,000 artisanal fishing households across coastal Bangladesh.

Status Survey and Development of Elephant Conservation Plan

Client / Budget: World Bank, IUCN, Bangladesh Forest Department, MoEFCC (USD 3M)
Period: 2013–2016
What we delivered: National wildlife conservation initiative to assess elephant populations and establish a long-term framework for elephant conservation and human–wildlife coexistence, including large-scale field data collection, institutional coordination, and policy/action planning support.
Proof points: Led and authored the National Elephant Conservation Action Plan (2018–2027); coordinated the countrywide elephant population status survey (2017); and established Bangladesh’s first Elephant Response Team model to mitigate human, elephant conflict, strengthening national capacity and enabling collaboration for transboundary conservation.
